You may be the Lance Armstrong of your neighbourhood and you may have knitted yourself every coloured jersey known to cycling but if you can’t get your bike safely to and from a race your skills will have gone to waste. There is obviously the option of cycling to an event but for the purposes of this article let’s pretend it’s too far for that option. Here is some good advice on transporting your bike safely.
Attached Securely
First things first, if you don’t have a van or you can’t get your bike in the boot of your car, you are going to need to invest in one of the many bike car racks out there. Shops such as Halfords or your local bike shop should be able to help you find the right one, but generally you must make sure it is the exact right one for your car before making a purchase. Borrowing one from a friend may just be dangerous, as in an accident or any sudden turns you won’t want to see you hybrid bike go flying off down the road without you.
Bikes In Good Condition
Make sure your bike is in good nick (whether it is a hybrid bike or even a mountain bike). I doubt your cheap road bikes will stand up to speeds of 70mph when they only ever expect to go, at most, half that. Make sure your wheels and anything else that requires tightening is completely secure.
Car in Good Condition
With a roof rack stuck on your car you may feel a difference in the handling of your vehicle, not only from the weight but from the aerodynamics. You need to be sure that your tyres are properly pumped up and that you suspension is in top condition. Also, the places where your bike car racks are attached need to be free from rust or any wear and tear.
Don’t Forget Your Car is Taller Now
Don’t go swooping into your local drive through without checking your new height. It can be easy to forget that your car is different height especially if you are not a regular bike mover, but even if you just have a cheap BMX bike on your roof you won’t want to damage it, or your car for that matter, by bashing into a roofline or barrier.
Security
Finally, make sure your bikes are secured if you are going to leave your car for any length of time. Thieves will find it easy to spot and grab your prized racing bike if you haven’t properly chained it up. Prized items like BMX pedals can often be removed to ensure that thieves don’t detach them. Always make sure you bike has no easily detached items remaining on it.

The world of skateboarding just wouldn’t be the same without legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk. An inspiration for many new skaters, he has taken the sport to new limits, setting dozens of records for his amazing skateboard tricks.
Though Hawk is clearly a leader in the sport, it is important to remember that he started off where all skateboarders did. At one time, Tony Hawk had to learn how to skateboard, like all other skateboarders. He has put a lot of hard work into becoming the top pro skateboarder that he is today.
Born in San Diego, California, he first began skateboarding at the age of 8 after his older brother bought him a used skateboard. His father, a retired U.S. Navy officer, built a ramp in their backyard for Tony to practice. He won his first skateboarding contest just three years later, and turned pro at the young age of fourteen. Since then he has won dozens of major competitions in the world of skateboarding, becoming a top name in the sport.
Tony Hawk is known for completing the first 900, or spinning around for two and a half rotations while on a skateboard. This feat was accomplished at the 1999 X-Games, the world’s largest alternative sports competition. It took twelve attempts for him to land this trick during the 1999 competition; he again successfully completed the 900 during the X Games in 2001.
Tony Hawk is best known as a vert skateboarder, meaning that he uses ramps and bowls rather than skating on flat ground. Vert skateboarding is known as being very difficult; it can take quite a while just to learn how to drop in to the bowl, making his tricks all the more impressive.
Tony Hawk is known not only for his skateboarding tricks, but also for his video game line distributed by Activision. These realistic games provide an opportunity to practice tricks virtually by taking on the persona of a pro skateboarder. The series debuted in 1999, and there have been 11 titles to date, including the Pro Skater and Underground series and the latest game, 2009′s “Tony Hawk: Ride.”
His skateboarding-related activities extend beyond competitions and video games. In 2002 Hawk started the Boom Boom Huck Jam, a live show featuring displays in motocross, skateboarding, and BMX. He has also appeared in many films, including “Police Academy 4″ in 1987, “Gleaming the Cube” in 1989, “Jackass: The Movie” with Bam Margera, Lords of Dogtown about the history of skateboarding, and several other movies.
He has also donated money to help build skate parks across the country and provide skateboards for kids who can’t afford them. He has spent years encouraging others to take part in the sport he loves. He often interacts with his younger fans at competitions and other appearances, and is known as somewhat of an ambassador in the sport.
Tony Hawk is among the best-known names in the world of skateboarding, and for good reason. His story, competition record, impressive tricks, and other skateboarding activities have earned him a place in the history of the sport.

It looks like Joana’s back yet again with another guide for WoW! Joana has been hard at work making a new leveling guide for Blizzard’s new expansion pack, Wrath Of The Lich King (WoTLK). I’ve been one of the few very lucky people to get the first sneak peak on this guide. Here’s my review from what I’ve seen so far..
Overall review:
Joana’s new WoTLK leveling guide comes at the same quality as his previous horde leveling guides (the 1-60 and 60-70 guides). Instructions are clear and the overall guide is extremely easy to understand and follow. The guide contains instructional videos, pictures and screenshots to help guide you through every step, exact coordinates, strategies, walkthroughs and everything you need to get through Northrend. He provides specific instructions on the fastest ways to level in Northrend.
What zones are covered?
This guide covers all zones in Northrend, including both starting zones, Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra. Joana has not only covered both of the aforementioned zones in detail, but also shows you which zone is better to start from to get through Northrend faster.
Is this for both Horde and Alliance?
Unfortunately, not both. This guide is only for Horde. Joana focuses all his efforts on Horde.
I hope my review has helped you, even if only a little. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this new guide of his. What more can you expect from the famous Joana? No doubt this will be highly popular and in demand once it’s 100% complete and released to the public in time for WoTLK’s release.
If you have any doubts, he also offers a money back guarantee which he honors. However, you won’t need to ask for a refund, or even think of asking for a refund once you see the content, I’m sure. His guides have the lowest refund rates when compared to all the other WoW related guides on the market as proven by Clickbank, a company that processes payments for most, if not all the WoW guides out there.

Steering Components
Article 3
Steering a bicycle is done more by shifting your weight than by turning your handlebars. It doe not work like an automobile. The handlebar, seat and pedals must be securely attached to the frame of the bike to make the bike steer well. The height of the handlebar stem and the seat post should always be fastened so that their minimum insertion line is not visible.
The front fork and handlebars should be tight and lined up properly with the front wheel to allow the bike to travel a straight path. Recently my neighbor Jim who owns the book store here in Moultrie brought over two bicycles for me to repair. Both were high end Mountain Bikes. One was a Janus and had been in a wreck. The front tire did not line up with the handlebars.
This is a very easy repair as long as there is no major damage which you can even do when you are out on the trail. If you have the proper wrench it makes it much easier. You can often do this repair without any tools. If you have a wrench that fits, you simply loosen the handlebars from the bike. Hold the front tire; align the front end so that your front tire is at a 90 degree angle to your handlebars. Then tighten up the screw, on most newer model bikes this will be a large Allen Screw. If you have no tools you can often simply hold the front wheel between your legs and jerk the handlebar into position.
Also make sure the seat is good and tight and the pedals are in good condition. My wife and I were out on a ride one day. I usually ride behind her because if I ride in front I tend to go too fast and lose her. This day we were climbing a small hill when one of her pedals literally broke off. I was told she was a victim of pedal shear. This simply means that when the pedal was made it probably had some defect and stress over time caused it to shear off at the post right where it went into the crank arm. She fell, hurt her shoulder and had to go get an x-ray to make sure everything was OK. Checking your pedals on a regular basis should be automatic, but it is something that most riders never do, unless they have a problem. Since this little incident, I check pedals before every ride.
You may know that my grandson races BMX as a 9 Year Old Rookie. Before each State Qualifying Race he has to have his bike checked. One of the things they check is the pedals. Can you imagine a pedal shearing off during a race? That could be real bad.
Check any bolt, nut or anything that looks like it might need tightened, tighten loose bolts. If anything comes loose during a ride it could fly under a tire give you a flat and then you need to go back to article one in this series.
Check especially for looseness in the front and headset bearings, tighten as needed or if severe you may need to take it to a shop and have them replaced. It never hurts to be a little too careful when it comes to maintenance. If you aren’t sure get a shop to look your bike over. I have my main racing bike and my mountain bike checked by a real shop annually. It cost 45.00 and they do a great job at Cycle World in Albany Georgia. I am sure you can find a good shop near you that will be happy to go over your bike and make sure it is in top working condition.
Watch for the next article which will be coming out soon. We will be discussing the brakes.

You can find men’s mountain bikes is many different places both online and at local retailers. There are many different brands and models to choose from, ranging in price for under $100 dollars, to upwards of two to three grand or more, depending on the brand, model, and what the bike is designed for. There are some important things to consider when buying a bike, what you are going to use it for, how often you are going to ride it, and your budget.
You can use a men’s mountain bike for many different things, from riding mountainous trails, going over rough terrain and enjoying the outdoors with friends. These bikes need to be built tough enough to withstand many conditions, have heavy duty frames, good shocks and suspensions, and extra protection for chains, derailers, and wheels. If you are using your mountain bike just to get around, or for light usage, then you may only need a more lightweight design.
If you are going to be riding your bike on long trips, or ride it on a regular basis, then you want one that fits you right, has a comfortable seat and easy to use shifting capabilities. You also might want to consider extra padding on the seat or shock absorbers that will take the brunt of your riding. You also want a bike that allows you to sit in an upright position thereby putting less of a strain on your back.
Cost is often a big factor in your men’s mountain bike purchase. Even if you are on a budget, you still want a bike that is well made, and one that will last a long time. If you can, try to find one with a warranty, and if there is an extended one available, you should purchase it. Usually extended warranties don’t cost that much extra, and are well worth the cost.
Here is just a small sample of the kinds of bikes that are available. For a basic priced economic men’s bike, try the Magna Glacier Point Mountain bike. This is a 26″ base mode lightweight unit, and is good for many all around applications. It is available at many different mass marketing retailers, and is reasonably priced at just under $70.
Another good basic men’s bike is the Polaris Ranger. This 26″ bike has an 18″ steel frame, dual suspension, and a Shimano “Revo” Twist shifter. It is a 21 speed bike with double V brakes, a Shimano “Tourney” real derailer, and alloy wheels. It also features a three piece crank and comes with a limited one year warranty. It sells for just $159.99.
On the higher end of the scale, there is the Mongoose Status Dual Suspension 26″ bike, with disc brakes, trigger shifting and a full aluminum suspension package. It has a fully adjustable seat, and specially designed wheels. This model is twenty four speed and sells retail for just under $350.
There are many other websites that have multiple listings, and there are price comparison sites as well. Be careful when visiting these sites, because while they do locate the lowest prices of men’s mountain bikes, each retailer has their own policies on shipping, warranties and guarantees.

The thrill and uniqueness that attracts the people has no comparison with any other thing. Nine different types are available in the market, for those who are looking for the bike of their own kind.
BMX Bikes
BMX bikes are 20 inches wheeler in a small size, responsive and swift. These are the bikes which are commonly used for jumping or in the dirt mounds exactly for the same purpose, the jumping, and these are also used in skate parks. These are smaller in size and have short wheel base for performing stunts and tricks.
Cross Country Mountain Bike
If you want to ride on hills then cross country mountain bike is perfect choice for you. The reason is; that these are very helpful in riding on uneven terrains and it is better and easier sport than BMX. Mostly bikers love to travel through long distance, as the runner usually does. This exercise enables bikers to be fit as a runner.
Cyclo Cross Biking
Cyclo cross biking is the combination of two; you can say it is multipurpose biking. Its track is a combination of road and mountain and this course involves off road section and water crossings as well.
Dirt Bikes
Dirt bikes are most appropriate for man-made mounds of dirt. And if you are interested in doing tricks and spins then this one is perfect because it has an aerial in the middle of the jump. These mounds are comparatively closer that is why bikers need to maintain the speed and height at each jump.
Down Hill Mountain Bike
Down Hill Bikes are the kind of bikes used for the race down to hill and as fast as it could be. It is very strenuous and thrilling activity. Because the trail is very uneven and dangerous, it is very difficult to manage high speed at this type of trail. Therefore you need to find the best route to bottom and for this one has to counter the mountain. It has become very popular sports for the reason it involves fun.
Single Speed Bikes
This is the simplistic sports designed with only few moving parts. Light bikes are totally on the biker and have no extra mechanical advantage.
Trail Mountain Bikes
Trail Bikes are low framed and small wheels. This is an advantage in small jumps over the obstacles. Mountain Biking is difficult sport with high involvement and balance.
