The trends of the recent times show an increase of the popularity of retro bicycles, which can only make many of us happy. These models are added to the other newer models, but also become a part of our lifestyle, influencing our personal fashion styles and our attitude.
The retro bicycles manufactured these days borrow a lot of elements from the bikes of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Of course, we are only referring to the design, the components they are made of being extremely modern and performing. We are referring to brake systems, to wheels, to gears and so on. The retro image is also completed by other fashion elements, such as white rubbers or leather seats and so on.
According to the analyses done by those preoccupied with the evolution of the bicycle market, the bike manufacturers all over the world provide more and more retro bicycles. Moreover, the well-known ones such as Shwinn or Cannondale are the best on the market. Therefore, this also represented an opportunity for manufacturers to specialize in a certain type of bicycle. Thus, we have specialized manufacturers which only create vintage or old-school bicycles.
The offer is very comprehensive. We have city bikes from the 60s, cruisers specific to the 70s, loyal replicas of the BMX bikes sold in the 80s and the 90s. In other words, there is a bicycle for each of us, all we have to do being to decide on the one that fits us best because the bikes are out there for us.

The price of a gallon of gasoline and current economic conditions, have forced many people to consider alternate forms of transportation. One alternative is the electric bike. An electric bike is simply a standard bicycle with a motor attached and powered by a battery. The benefits such as environmental are worth the research necessary to conform to the safety and legal requirements in the area of operation. Legal and safety requirements vary by state and country and some have not yet addressed the electric bicycle in their laws.
Safety requirements are necessary for the safety of the cyclist and the motorist. Some such as a helmet are not a requirement but should be worn to protect the head from injury in a crash. Riding a bicycle on the sidewalk is prohibited in some areas but it should be in all areas. At intersections, motorists are not looking for a bicycle approaching from a sidewalk and may not see it in time to avoid a crash. The main safety requirement for electric bikes is to obey the same traffic laws as automobiles. This means that the cyclist must be able to see traffic signals and signs. It is very unsafe to ride against the traffic and does not aid in visibility.
Legal requirements also depend on the country and state in which the electric bike is operated. In the United States, an electric bike must not exceed 20 miles per hour on level streets. The battery cannot provide more than 750 watts of power to the motor. Individual states have mandated other requirements such as a license, registration and insurance and limited the age of cyclists. Some states such as Florida also require headlights and taillights to be mounted on the bicycle.
Other countries have been more receptive to the electric bike especially those in which the bicycle is the primary source of transportation. Most other countries have defined an electric bicycle in the same was as the United States. The electric bicycle cannot be powered with a battery over 750 watts and the maximum speed is 20 to 30 miles per hour.
For instance, in the UK, the electric bike is considered to be a standard bicycle if it does not exceed 40 kg in weight with the battery. It cannot exceed 25 k or 15.5 miles per hour and its battery cannot provide more than 250 watts of power. It must have operating pedals and teens under 14 cannot ride a motorized bike.
Most other countries have restrictions tailored to the definition of an electric bike mainly due to the wide variety of them. Some countries prohibit the conversion of a standard bike to an electric one by use of the kits. The best option is to be sure of the legal and safety requirements in the area of the operation of the electric bike.

All people knows what a bike is and its role.
How BMX Bikes began
BMX bikes is one of the quickest growing bikes in the market arena. In the 1960′s, BMX bikes began as imitation versions of motocross motorcycles. BMX bikes were exploited to ride in the dirt. Riders could be seen leaping and rushing about dirty terrain tracks, as well as, around their regions on BMX bikes. Kids who were indifferent to motocross or racing wanted to get their mitts on a BMX.
BMX bike v Traditional bike
It is possible to identify a BMX bike from your ordinary bike in a number of means. Particular features of a BMX bike include your typical 20 inch tires. The tread on a BMX tire is a lotdissimilar if likened to your ordinary bike tire. A regular bike tire may possibly have a few grooves or ridges, but a BMX tire tread has large crevices and knobs to facilitate increase grip and hold control in the dirt. Rough terrain would generally be too difficult to handle for an ordinary bike tire, but BMX tread can get the job done.
Tandem Cycle
Tandem bicycles are bicycles that are built for two or more individuals. To begin with they were created by unifying two or more bicycles together; however, nowadays they are custom built by hand. The first patent for a tandem bike was filed sometime in the 19th century, and as of this time they still are a a sensible alternate to the conventional cycle. New editions of the original tandem bicycle are viewed as high end custom bikes.
Bike material and mountain bikes
Presently the most popular frame materials for a mountain bike are the most common alloys.
The most commonly used alloy for frame material is steel. It weights the most and it is also one of the most perdurable frame materials. It is a pretty strict material that is long-lasting or stands up over several years of riding. Bikes made with steel chassis also tend to be less costly.
Aluminium is the more popular frame materials. It’s almost the lightest in weight, second to C fibre, and these chassis tend to be less costly than C fibre and titanium.
Titanium is best for mountain bikes. It is slightly light, is very lasting, and is absolvitory or slightly flexible, yielding a smooth ride. The downside to this particular material is the dear cost.
C fibre is the newest material presently being utilised now. It is made of sheets of C particles that are laid out long and thin to resemble fibres. C fibre is presently the lightest material used for bike chassis. C fibre makes a great, light frame that also has some flexibility or is absolvitory in the bumps yet it’s not incessantly really durable.
Conclusion
Tandem bikes are a fun means to share the bicycling experience with someone you like, as a well as a excellent bicycling alternative for people with eye deficiency. When out browsing for a BMX freestyle bike makes sure you buy one that will fit its rider. Height and weight of the rider are the most important things you will want to look at. The tallness of the bike needs to be just tall enough so that the rider’s foot can touch the ground.

The verb ‘ride’ is defined as “to move along in any way; be carried or supported”. Life is a ride- metaphorically speaking. What are the other types of rides? There are many objects that can move or carry us, such as cars, bikes, balloons, but often ride implies a thrill. Here are some thrilling ways to ride.
1. Skateboarding:
Skateboards themselves are pieces of plywood with a pair of wheels. Riders stand on top of them and glide along pavement. This is very difficult not only due to the balance involved but also because of the fact that you are not strapped in. In the 1960s skateboarding became very popular and by the 80s they were being mass produced across the States. They are more of a sport then a mode of transportation. Serious skateboarders hang out in skate parks and challenge themselves by performing tricks off of ramps.
2. Biking:
Bike riding is a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. It’s a great activity to do with friends, family, or on your own. If you’re interested in exploring a new city or area, a bike is a great vehicle to take. Some people like to ride inner-city bicycles and use them as their mode of transportation. Others prefer off-roading with heavy mountain bikes. Like skateboarding, bike riding can be done as an extreme sport. BMX bikers for instance, ride off enormous ramps and are judged based on the tricks they are able to perform in the air.
3. Hot air ballooning:
For those of you looking for a thrill without having to do any work, why not go for a hot air balloon ride? Hot air balloon rides are the perfect way to explore the skies of a city. Take someone for their birthday, anniversary, or just for fun and enjoy a champagne toast in flight. Balloon pilots are well trained and will take care of everything for you.
4. Horseback riding:
Horseback riding is one of the world’s oldest pastimes. Traditionally horses were used to travel short distances. People would either saddle up and actually ride the horse themselves, or they would attach a buggy, which they could sit in. Today, horseback riding is done mostly as a pastime. While some people who live in rural areas do it for fun, others are much more serious. There are riding competitions all over the world, including the Olympics, with many competitive categories to choose from.
So there you have it, a few examples of thrilling rides. Some old, some new, some extreme.

Pocket bikes, the minuscule versions of motorbikes, are a major craze nowadays. These bikes are small and light enough to carry under the arm, but big enough for a child to ride. One can find models for children as young as three or four years old. They are cheap, at just over $500, and accelerate quickly to speeds of 55 km/h and faster.
The pocket bikes are not “street legal,” as they do not have VIN numbers and do not have to meet the safety requirements of a motorcycle. As they are quite small in appearance, other motorists may not see them. The riders do not need to possess a license and generally do not wear the suitable protective gear. Mostly, these pocket bikes are run off road and in by lanes. A pocket bike can cause danger to the person who lacks the fine motor skills that are very essential for very precise throttle control.
The pocket bikes come with a forty to forty-nine-cc size engine, and they continue up to 110cc engine. The Honda CRF50 has become a standard in pocket bikes. The rate of speed possible on a pocket bike is breathtaking. There are strong chances of getting hurt if you are not careful while driving it. These bikes make a lot of noise and can be disturbing to neighbors and others. Many other brands of bikes are also available in the market.
An entire industry has sprouted around the modern-day pocket bikes. As a result, pocket bike owners have an array of choices available to them for customizing their pocket bikes with parts and accessories unique for each pocket bike.

If you are thinking about buying a new bike then you there are a few things you should think about. Those things include the purpose of your bike, your skill levels, and additional components or needs you might want for your bike. These things will make a difference when you purchase a road bike.
When you purchase a road bike you need to be clear on the purpose of your bike. There are many different types of road bikes like touring, racing, off-road and trail, and more. If you are a racer then you must invest in a top level bike. If you are looking for a good racing bike then you want it to be as light as possible. This is because a heavier bike is harder to get at faster speeds and they will slow you down. This means a lightweight frame and as little accessories on the bike as possible.
If you plan on having a bike for the trails, steep up hill and down hill climbs then you will need a bike that has an excellent suspension system with good shocks to absorb the rough terrain you will be riding on.
If you are looking for a touring bike then you are going to want a bike that is the most comfortable for long rides. You might want the most comfortable seat you can find because you will be riding for long periods at a time. You also might want a set of front shocks to provide for the smoothest ride possible.
Your skill level is very important when you consider bikes to buy too. If you are not a skilled rider then you most likely won’t want to get all of the accessories for tricks and affects. If you are a new rider you might want to get a low level bike that will give you the opportunity to learn on. As you get better then you can upgrade your bike. In addition, a low or mid-level bike is a good idea because they are a lower price. You don’t want to spend a ton of money on a new bike if you decide you don’t like the sport.
There are many accessories you might want to add to your bike like a water bottle holder, special handlebars and grips, and special pedals and more. Pedals are not the same on all bikes. For instance, for a rider that does tricks and rides standing quite a bit then you will want pedals that catch to the bottoms of your shoes better.
So before you make your purchase, ask other people that are into biking what they recommend. Go to bike shops and ask the owners or bike technicians what they feel is best for you. Bikes come in many different price ranges so there will be a bike for every budget. The more serious you plan on taking your biking, the more expensive the bike will be.
As you can see there are many things you should think about when you purchase a new bike. You need to consider your skill level and the different purposes you will use your bike for. You need to think about if you will be on your bike for long or short rides and the different types of terrain you will be riding on. All of these things will make a big difference when you purchase a new bike. Do your research and you will get better enjoyment out of your new recreation and/or sport.

I’ve recently been looking into cycling training programmes which are available on the internet (ie. Not books or magazines, just simple to follow programmes).
You might actually be surprised to hear that I only found 3 websites offering cycling training programmes. I don’t want to name and shame, but one site offered a pretty mediocre product, another was charging $50+ PER PROGRAMME, and the last had a pretty nice looking website, with a great looking programme, it was reasonably priced, and actually run by ex-pro cyclists! (I wont be revealing it here, you will have to check out my lens below if you really want to find it!)
So what should you expect to receive when purchasing cycling training programmes?
Most programmes consist of a pre-planned week or month with specific goals for each day. You will most likely have a mix of sprinting, climbing, endurance, cadence training and recovery days. Some training programmes have specific workouts you can follow, so if you are a good all-round cyclist, but would like to improve your climbing ability, they offer workouts focused solely on climbing.
Some online cycling training programmes also let you contact their staff if you have any questions or are struggling with certain aspects of your training.
You may also be wondering what these paid programmes offer that the free programmes do not. As mentioned above, paid programmes allow you to actually contact somebody if you don’t understand anything. The quality is generally much better as well, by quality I mean that the programme is easy to understand and follow and the programme is actually structured so that you get maximum benefits without overtraining. You are also purchasing a properly researched Programme, not just a single workout somebody posted on a forum, which works for THEM.
What problems do cycling training programmes solve?
For people new to cycling, the training sessions help them avoid common ‘sins’ most people commit when they first start cycling. For experienced cyclists, cycling training programmes save you time having to plan your training sessions, they also save you a lot of time from having to figure out what will benefit you and what wont. If you race, these programmes will also give you a bit of a competitive edge over your opponents, since you will be stronger and better prepared come race day! (As long as you don’t buy one of the rubbish programmes mentioned above, see below for my recommendation).
